- FireSmart BC Website – This is the provincial FireSmart site that has lots of excellent information and resources to use and download.
- FireSmart Canada Website – This is the national FireSmart site.
- City of Vernon Emergency Management Program – This is the City of Vernon’s Emergency Program is managed by Vernon Fire Rescue Services. Excellent website full of very good information you need to know in the event of an emergency.
- Block Watch Society of BC – Working together, building safer neighbourhoods throughout British Columbia is the mission of Block Watch. Check out their website for information on how you can make your home and neighbourhood a safer place to live.
- Emergency Info BC ..EmergencyInfoBC is active during partial and full-scale provincial emergencies, both on this site and on Twitter via @EmergencyInfoBC. We share official response and recovery sources, as well as verified event information from trusted partners.
- Vernon Connect App is now available. Read more about this app for your smart phone on the City of Vernon Website. The emergency alert feature will kick in if an emergency occurs that requires residents to take action. In such cases, the “report a problem” banner changes to read “alert” and the colour changes from green to red. Residents should read the alert to help decide next steps.If you don’t have a smart phone you can sign up to receive email notifications of emergencies, news, calendar events and more.
